It's been a decade since the Gen II Prius hit the market and truly began the seed change of the global automotive industry with the truly first durable hybrid. As the 10 year warranty on the high-voltage systems expire, more and more drivers are left with few alternatives to their local Toyota dealer when faced with failing HV systems components. With more than 2 million Gen II Prius sold, I predict the service market for expired warranty hybrids is due to explode in the next few years. As most long term EV pundits are aware, charging has always been an exercise in "adaptation". Carrying a trunk full of extension cords and plug adapters is a common practice for long time EV drivers due to the need for opportunity charging at a friend's house, local campground, or any other "unknow" facility. Shame on Virginia for Taxing the Efficient

Mr. Governor, you should be ashamed of yourself! As a resident of the State of Virginia, and a strong and active advocate of alternative fuel vehicles, I feel it necessary to utilize whatever mediums I have at my disposal to condemn the actions of the State of Virginia and Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA) for even entertaining an additional $75 per year registration fee for alternative fuel vehicles.
